Controls
The presentation of data om-screen is managed through display elements called controls. There are two types of control: configuration controls and display controls.
Configuration Controls
Configuration controls used to create the structure of the website at two levels:
- Section configuration: determines the number and order of tabbed pages visible in the data section
- Page configuration: determines the number and order of display controls on a single page
Display Controls
The display controls currently available in Ellserve are:
- Data table
- Graph
- Summary information
- Invoice browser
- ICP information
- Account information
- Document browser
- Budget tracker
- Documents Browser
- Notes
Configurability
Display controls have settings which determine the content and format of displayed data.
Most display controls have two levels of configuration:
- Default: The configuration settings used to configure control at each login. Default settings are maintained using the default settings panel.
- Session: Session settings can be altered within a single login session. Session settings are altered in real-time using a control's in-session parameters panel.
Note: In-session settings are made are available at run-time through the default configuration panel.
Saving Configuration Changes Between Sessions
At the time of creation Individual login are associated with a default configuration based on the Standard Template. and are specified as configurable or not configurable. A user with a non-configurable template can only modify those in-session settings allowed under their login, and will always return to the same defaults with every new login.
Changes made to the default configuration by users with a configurable template are saved against the login ID and are persistent between sessions. A change made to the default configuration against one login ID does not affect the templates of other Login IDs.
De/Activating Configurability
Where a login allows the configurabiltiy status for a login ID can be changed.
>> To toggle the configurability status for a login:
- Select the “Sites Settings” tab in the Settings Section.
- Use the selector to select mode (selecting 'Not Configurable' will cause all cog icons to disappear from the site and access to the defaults settings panel will be removed.
Note: this option is only available to users with configurable logins. It will temporarily disable access to default setting panels and render the cog icon invisible.
